The 13 Crystal Skulls

Posted: September 7, 2013 by phaedrap1 in Conspiracy, Occult

One of the most compelling mysteries of all time is the conspiracy of the 13 Crystal Skulls.. Many of these skulls have been found around the world and near many mysterious places including the Great Pyramids and the Stonehenge… Many people think these skulls are believed to between 5000 and 35,000 years old… Some people “think” these skulls posses magical powers and healing properties but no one knows where they came from or why they even exist! There are many theories; that they came from the lost city of Atlantis or from the Mayan civilization… The most weird theory is that they can be used to see into the past and even the future!

Historians have found a story which mentions these 13 crystal skulls, and it comes from an Indian legend which claims that these were property of the Goddess of Death. They had to protect these skulls from pagan priests and warriors..But many people have claimed that they have found a crystal skull but many turned out to be a complete fake! Most of these skull collections are privately owned in the USA, Mexico, Brazil, France, Mongolia and in Tibet.. Most of these skulls are not in perfect condition but the most famous one of all is the Mitchell-Hedges Skull which is one of the several in existence today… Most recently a skull was found on March 9th in Germany… This is why I’m sharing this conspiracy with everyone.. Read more information below!

The Mitchell-Hedges Skull

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos This skull was found by a famous English Archeologist F. Albert Mitchell-Hedges in Central America in 1927.. He was clearing out an ancient Maya settlement in Yucatan in 1924 and he burned the forest down to make the dig easier.. Now after the smoke cleared he saw amazing ruins of stone pyramids, and a ancient city, called Lubaantun.(The Place of the Fallen Stones) Now three years later he organized another expedition with his daughter Anna.. It was her 17th birthday (On April 1927) She discovered a strange item under the debris; it was the polished rock crystal skull.. The skull was not complete it was missing the lower jaw but that was found three months later buried a couple meters below the surface… They claimed that when they touched the skull they had strange feelings..

That was the story was later labeled as a “fake” and there has been documents that verify that it was purchased by Mitchell-Hedges as a auction in Sothebys in London..(1943) Today it’s still in the hands of the family (Anna Mitchell-Hedges) and you can view it at her house in Canada.. She claims that when it’s in the same room with her while sleeping she has really vivid dreams about the life of Indians that lived thousands of years ago…She never mentions a connection between the skull and these weird experiences… This is not the only weird thing that happened; over the years she has told many stories that have some serious historical evidence that scientists can’t even explain..

After her father died (1960′s) she decided to give the skull to scientists for a investigation.. She believed that it was too “perfect” for the Indian civilizations to make…The first person to investigate the skull was Frank Dordland and after taking a look at it; He discovered that it has a complicated system of lenses, prisms and channels producing unusual optical effects.. There was no signs of processing, it was completely perfect and he even contacted a company famous for crystal oscillators and they said it was unbelievable that someone made this skull.. So who or what made this skull?

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos The results from HP were shocking and it was found that it was made long before the first civilization that appeared in America, where the skull was found! The quality of the crystal was amazing; nothing we ever seen before! The skull was 5.13 kg, 203.4 mm long and 125.4 wide.. After very close analysis they found that it was three or four joints grown together. It has a hardness slightly lower than topaz, and a diamond but was cut with diamonds.. It so crazy how these ancient civilizations made this skull so perfectly! There also was a prism that was found at the back/bottom of the skull:Any ray of light strikes the eye-sockets is reflected and if you look into the eyes you will see the entire room reflected.. They all say that it was made regardless of all laws and rules.. Here is what they said: “The damned thing can’t exist at all. Those who had done it had no idea of crystallography or of fiber optics. The people completely ignored the axis of symmetry, which was to prevent the crystal from splitting during processing. It is strange why it didn’t split at that!”

So it was carved against the natural axis of the crystal but many sculptors today take the axis into account because if you carve against the grain it was most likely shatter! Even when using high-tech cutting methods… There was no microscopic scratches which would indicate that they were carved with metal instruments.. The theory is that it was hewn out with diamonds and with the use of sand and water.. Its thought that it would of taken over 300 years to complete this one skull! We might never know the right answer to this mysterious skull but Ill include the other stories below!

British Crystal Skull and Paris Crystal Skull

Photobucket Pictures, Images and PhotosPhotobucket Pictures, Images and Photos
Here is a pair of similar skulls known as the Paris Crystal Skull and British Crystal Skull and both were bought by mercenaries in Mexico in 1890s… Some people claim that one of them was copied off the other that’s why they are identical. In comparison to the Mitchell-Hedges skull it’s made of “cloudier” crystal and are not finely sculpted.. The British Skull is on display at London’s Museum of Mankind and the The Paris Skull is on display at the Trocadero Museum of Paris…

Mayan Crystal Skull and Amethyst Skull

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos Both of these were discovered in the early 20th century in Guatemala and Mexico.. They were brought to the US by a Mayan Priest.. The Amethyst Skull is made of purple quartz and the Mayan skull is clear.. And these two skulls are alike and very similar to the Mitchell-Hedges skull. It was also studied by HP and was found to be cut on the axis.. Someone is going through so much trouble to make these skulls. So what the is purpose or the meaning behind them? We need more scientific evidence about these skulls and who made them! Are they connected to our higher enlightenment or a dooms-day theory? Could they have been created by Extraterrestrial beings? Could they be ancient computers? They have been claimed a powerful tool for healing the body, mind, and spirit but these are not all the skulls.. I’ll include the rest of the skulls below! Keep reading more more great information on this conspiracy!

Texas Crystal Skull (A.K.A. MAX)

In the early 1980s a “human sized” quartz crystal skull surfaced in Texas. It was first owned by Norbu Chen, a Tibetan Healer… It was later given to Carl and Jo Ann Parks as a payment for debt. It was stored in their home in Texas for over seven years and she later realized it was an important artifact after watching a documentary on TV.. She later called the person she acquired it from and he told her that the skull was indeed authentic.. She was later told that the name of; Max. It’s a single clear piece of crystal weighing 18 pounds! The origin is believed to be from Guatemala… You can see this skull in various exhibitions across the United States today..

ET Skull

Also found in the 1980s, by Joke Van Dieten Maasland who resides in Miami Beach, Florida.. He bought this smokey quartz skull from a dealer in Los Angeles.. It was first owned by a family in Guatemala which found it in 1906 while excavating a Mayan Temple.. Joke states that it helped her in healing a brain tumor. She shares her story in her book called the Messengers of Ancient Wisdom! The ET skull is a smoky quartz and it gets it’s name from the pointed cranium and exaggerated overbite.. She also brings the skull to many different places to “share” the healing powers, that she believes it possess..

Rose Quartz Crystal Skull

The only skull that comes the closest to resembling the Mitchell-Hedges Skull.. It was found near the border of Honduras and Guatemala..It’s slightly larger than the Mitchell-Hedges and it’s not clear in color.. It’s the same high quality craftsmanship but it includes a removable mandible!

Aztec Skulls

The Aztec Skull is located in the Museum of Man in London and is no longer on display.. The reason why is that the skull moves on it’s own in the glass container.. Many workers were “scared” of this skull and they demanded that it would be covered with a cloth at night in order to clean up the area around it…This has been confirmed by the museum personnel and visitors.. It was bought by the museum at the turn of the century by a dealer in New York.

The Paris Museum of Man also contains another called the Aztec Skull which also is no longer on display.. These skulls were much smaller than the Mitchell-Hedges Skull and not as perfect..So why are some of these skulls more perfect than others? Could they be fake? Or are they made by all different people?

Sha-Na-Ra, Jaguar Man and the Rainbow Skull

Now on this website he states that when he was on a lecture tour in Mexico.. He was invited to function which had several crystal carved objects from this ancient city.. There was two different crystal skulls one owned by Nocerino.. The weight of this one is about 13 pounds and 3 ounces and both are carved out of clear quartz. Nocerino calls the skull Sha-Na-Ra in memory of Shaman Healer..The second one is owned by Dael Walker who is a well known crystal researcher and an author of several crystal healing books.. It’s smaller than the other and it weights about 9 pounds..The reason he calls it the Rainbow of Colors is because of what the skull does when it’s in natural light! There was much more artifacts that were found including several smaller carved skulls, half skuls which were hollow and a thing called “The Jaguar Man..” It’s five inches high, two inches in diameter and carved of quartz crystal. It depicts a head of a Jaguar with the head of a man in it’s mouth. The piece is currently owned by Charles C. Pelton (Founder of Paranormal Research) and currently is undergoing serious research..

They Just Found The 13th Crystal Skull!!!

Found recently in Germany! On March 9th 2011! I have to translate the link for everyone…
As the magazine “Mysteries” reports, was the Swiss journalist Luc Bürgin skull (12 kilograms, up 17.5 centimeters, 21 centimeters deep) in the attic of his Bavarian informants – hidden in an old wooden box. “A custom-made, which in turn was located in an old, worn-out leather knapsack.”

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

This discovery enables historians in an uproar! For centuries give the mysterious skull of riddles.

Twelve of these crystal skulls are known, this would now be the secret thirteenth. Apparently they are from the remains of the civilizations of Central and South America, where the priests of the Maya or Aztecs with them religious rituals performed. According to legend, all 13 together on 21 December 2012, when the Mayan calendar ends and will go under the world, create a new age of light and prevent the apocalypse.

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

On the unknown, four-page paper to find 35 valuable art treasures, by order of the top Nazi leadership of Adolf Hitler and Heinrich Himmler shortly before the end of Augsburg in the south Bohemian Strakonice (Sudetenland) should be transported. Including Item 14: The Crystal Skull. “263-2 FRSs collection Rahn, No. 25 592, leather case, crystal skull, colonies, South America.”

According to list skull belonged to the former the researcher Otto Rahn, of the Nazis on a quest for the Holy Grail went for, and in 1939 under mysterious circumstances, was killed. And the inventory number 25 592 on the list was also on the wooden box. If the skull that the informant allegedly bought three years ago, “the price of a sandwich,” Now the real question is that; is it actually real?

The seventh person connected to the discovery of a prehistoric man found in the Alps has died, adding to the legend of a curse behind the ancient warrior.

Is Oetzi haunting his discoverers?

That a 63-year-old man should die of natural causes would normally raise few eyebrows. But when that man was a scientist connected to the discovery of a 5,300-year-old frozen corpse known as Oetzi the Iceman — and the seventh such person to die within a year — talk about a curse is inevitable.

US-born molecular archaeologist Tom Loy was found dead in his Brisbane home two weeks ago as he was finalizing a book about Oetzi, according to The Australian newspaper.

The director of the University of Queensland’s archaeological sciences laboratories had suffered from a blood-related condition for about 12 years, members of his family told the paper. The condition was diagnosed shortly after he became involved with the Iceman.

Loy “didn’t believe in the curse,” a colleague told The Australian. “It was just superstition. People die.”

Stone Age warrior

Oetzi was discovered high in the Italian alps near the Austrian border in 1991, and reports and pictures of the perfectly preserved Stone Age warrior sparked worldwide interest. But so did the murmurings about a curse, built around the theory that the Iceman was angry at being disturbed after 53 centuries.

The rumor of the curse began a year ago when the German tourist who discovered the mummy, Helmut Simon, 67, fell to his death during a freak blizzard while hiking near the same spot where he saw Oetzi through the ice.

Is it a curse such as those thought to surround the tombs of ancient Egypt?

Within an hour of Simon’s funeral, the head of the mountain rescue team that was assigned to find him, Dieter Warnecke, 45, died of a heart attack. Then in April, archaeologist Konrad Spindler, 55, who first inspected the prehistoric corpse, died of complications from multiple sclerosis.

The head of the forensic team examining Oetzi, Rainer Henn, 64, died in a car crash on the way to give a lecture about the iceman. The mountaineer who led Henn to the Iceman’s body, Kurt Fritz, 52, died in an avalanche, the only one of his party to be hit. And the man who filmed Oetzi’s removal from his icy mountain grave, celebrated Austrian journalist Rainer Hoelzl, 47, died of a brain tumor.

He didn’t die alone

Loy was renowned for discovering human blood on the Iceman’s clothing and weapons. His work — the subject of a National Geographic documentary in 2002 — debunked the theory that Oetzi, age 30-45, died alone in the mountains after a hunting accident. By revealing four different types of human blood on Oetzi’s clothing, he surmised that the Stone Age man was hunting with a companion when the pair got into a territorial skirmish.

Fatally wounded, Oetzi appears to have leaned against his companion for support.

These days, Oetzi rests in a refrigerated room at the South Tyrol Archaeological Museum in Bolzano, which attracts around 300,000 visitors a year and brings in $5 million (4 million euros) in tourism.

Aerial shot of crop circles in the Black Country
Aerial shot of crop circles in the Black Country
Crop circles are not the work of hoaxers and aerial photos of the Black Country can prove it, says Australian boffin.

An Aussie historian believes he has buried forever the ‘cereal’ lie that crop circles are the work of hoaxers – by unearthing Black Country images of them dating back to 1945 and beyond.

It’s ‘barley’ believable, but Greg Jefferys has also uncovered evidence of the phenomenon in scientific documents dating back to 1880.

The boffin, from Hobart, Tasmania, says his findings prove there’s more to the mysterious circles than hoaxers playing silly tricks.

“This discovery proves that claims by various artists to be the sole creators of crop circles are themselves a hoax,” he says.

“It just goes to show that the circles remain unexplained.

“I hope this discovery will stimulate renewed interest in crop circles by serious scientific researchers who have been fooled by the hoax claims.”

Greg, aged 59, who cut his teeth locating shipwrecks, used Google Earth’s new 1945 overlay – images of places taken 68 years ago – to make the breakthrough.

He spent more than 300 hours scouring the English countryside using the technology – and found a large number of crop circles.

Two of the most significant were on the outskirts of Stourbridge.

“Searching the old images presented many challenges,” Greg told the Sunday Mercury. “Some of the original photographs had physical and chemical damage that produced circular flaws on the Google images.

“I had to develop a methodology to distinguish between flaws on the film and genuine crop circles.”

Greg began his quest after reading an article in an 1800 edition of science journal Nature.

It suggested that crop circles had, in fact, been around since the 1700s.

And Stourbridge, believed to be a paranormal hotbed, was an obvious area to search.

In 2010 the town, once famed for glass-making, made headlines when a BBC journalist filmed a strange, orange orb in the skies over Wollaston.

But crop circles were not the only thing Greg uncovered while scrutinising the old aerial photographs.

“I also found a number of circular prehistoric structures similar to ‘Woodhenge’ – a timber, Neolithic monument close to Stonehenge,” he says. “But these were outside the Midlands.

“The aerial photographs from 1945 are particularly useful for finding prehistoric remains because they were taken at a time before farmers began the extensive use of heavy machinery in their fields, which disturbs the soil to a deeper level than previous farming methods.”

But there is one question Greg’s laborious research has failed to answer: if crop circles are not a hoax, what are they?

He has an idea of how to unravel this mystery.

“Firstly, I believe that the claims of various ‘artists’ to have created them all is patently false,” he says.

“That is itself probably one of the biggest hoaxes ever perpetrated on the scientific community, and I think that my 1945 Google Earth work does this.

“Secondly, there is a significant body of evidence that indicates high frequency electromagnetic energy is involved in the creation of crop circles.

“What is not clear is what generates that energy and organises it into circular patterns. This is one of the questions I hope to answer, at least partially.”

Those who have previously made a study of the strange symmetrical shapes – Reg Presley, former lead singer of 60s band The Troggs among them – already have their own theories as to how they are created.

They say that they are a warning about the perils of plundering our planet’s resources, not just two blokes with a plank and piece of rope.

In a blog, expert Freddy Silva explains: “Crop circles are organised harmonic forms that manifest around the world, the result of an energy interacting with the physical world – in this case plants. This energy is comprised of light, sound and magnetism.”

That’s one in the eye for the Ministry of Defence who, up to 1990, blamed all crop circles on two pensioners named Doug and Dave.

The theory was debunked when the structures, which some claim have healing qualities, appeared as far afield as California and Western Australia.

In fact, they have been spotted in 29 countries, created out of wheat, barley, linseed, rice paddies and even ice.

Doug and Dave only had bus passes.

And cynics still cannot explain what happened at Stonehenge on July 7, 1996.

At 4.15pm an RAF pilot reported nothing unusual below. Just 15 minutes later, a second airman reported a 900ft formation, comprising 149 circles aligned along a spiral curve.

The media may have lost interest in them, but crop circles are still out there. Last year provided a bumper harvest, with 18 recorded in August alone.

Reg, the country’s best known circle investigator, believes the striking agricultural artworks are messages from space.

Twenty years ago, he shocked the world by revealing: “A 200 foot long penis turned up in a crop formation just by Chequers.

“Everybody laughed – so did I.

“But one week after that appeared near the Prime Minister’s home, we discovered that the American male had lost half of his sperm count.

“Two months after that it came out that we’re losing it over here, too.

“I don’t believe that crop formation was a hoax. I think somebody was trying to tell us something.

“It’s all so bloody weird.”

I recently posted a very interesting article entitled “Johannes Bureus, the Renaissance rune magician.” Among other things, the article goes into the connection between ancient Hebrew and Nordic runes. It also elaborates on the connection with the Kabbalah and John Dee. So this sparked my interesting in returning to John Dee and reading about him and his Enochian Magic.

Those who are interested in these topics probably know that Dee signed his letters with two circles (zeros) and a seven: “007″, with the seven having an elongated top part. In the article “Sir Francis Bacon and John Dee: the Original 007″, we can read:

“Dr. Dee’s learning was far and wide, a brilliant mathematician, whose study ranged from geo-cartography and calculus which was vital in navigating the New World for explorers, to astrology, alchemy, the Cabala, cypher writing, religion, architecture, and science. In short, Dee’s metaphysics were a ‘red’ cross of the Hermetic tradition with a strong dose of mathematics. His library at the riverside village of Mortlake was considered the finest private collection in Europe containing thousands of bound books and handwritten manuscripts devoted to philosophy, science and esoterica. In comparison the University of Cambridge at the time had a mere 451 total books and manuscripts in their possession.

Noel Fermor in the journal Baconiana wrote that, “The Earl of Leicester’s father, the Duke of Northumberland, employed Dee as a tutor to his children so that they would have a sound scientific upbringing. Northumberland became a notable scientist with a strong leaning toward mathematics and magnetism. Anthony Wood in his Athenae Oxoniensis, wrote “that no one knew Robert Dudley better than Dee.” So it was quite natural for Leicester to introduce Dee to Elizabeth as she was to become the new Queen and it wasn’t long before Dee advanced to become the court astrologer.

Leicester signed his letters to Elizabeth with two circles containing dots symbolising he was her “Eyes”

Elizabeth was very much interested in the occult. Dee was responsible for choosing the most auspicious date for Elizabeth’s coronation which was on January 15th, 1559. The Queen was so impressed by Dee that she eventually travelled with her court to Mortlake, for the purpose of seeing his great library.

Dee has been defamed through the centuries as a necromancer, but it’s the opinion of many writers that his angelic-cabalistic- alchemical work, his Philosophers Stone, the “Monad Hieroglyphica”(1564) may have been a cover for covert operations carried on in the name of her majesty. The 007 was the insignia number that Elizabeth was to use for private communiques between her Court and Dee.

Dee signed his letters with two circles symbolising his own two eyes and indicating that he was the secret eyes of the Queen. The two circles are guarded by what may be considered a square root sign or an elongated seven. For Dee, seven was a sacred cabbalistic and lucky number.(Richard Deacon)”

So is it a seven, a square root sign or is it something else? Well, on the website of the “Order Of The White Wolf” they have a section called Enochian where we can read about the “The 49 Good Angels”, and this can give us a hint on the importance of seven:

The 49 Good Angels
The 49 Good Angels are the first “worldly” angelic powers presented in this system. Those listed on the Sigil of Ameth are apparently in some way above the worlds in which men live, as are the Ensigns. Having presented the Ensigns, the archangel Michael introduces the 49 angels by saying: “Now you touch the world, and the doings upon the earth. Now we show you the lower world: The Governors that work and rule under God.”

Dee and Kelly were presented with seven 7-by-7 tables. Each square of each table contained a letter and a number from 1 to 49. By gathering the letters with the same number in a certain sequence, the names of the angels were produced. The list of names, divided into groups of seven, were called the Tabula Collecta. Dee arranged these names into a circular table (called the Tabulum Bonorum), dividing the angels into groups of seven, with a King and a Prince heading each group.

See more images and read more about this here: The Seven Tables from which the names of the 49 “Good Angels” are derived.

Another take on this can be made if we simply rotate Dee’s 007 signature 90 degrees. It then looks like two balls and a club or a cane. The interesting about this is that there is a resemblance to the masonic symbol “Two Ball Cane”.

See more here:

And we can go even further on this because “Two Ball Cane” is allegedly a pun for “Tubal Cain” which is the secret password of a third degree mason, a “master mason”.

On the site in an article about the peace sign we can read:

What is even more interesting is that Vulcan is adored in Masonry under the name of Tubal Cain. In the Masonic Quiz Book the question is asked: “Who was Tubal Cain?” The answer is: “He is the Vulcan of the pagans.”

In Masonry, Tubal Cain is the name of the password for the Master Mason (or third) degree.

Listen to what occultist and Mason, Manly Palmer Hall, has to say:

“When the Mason learns that the key to the warrior on the block is the proper application of the dynamo of living power, he has learned the mastery of his craft. The seething energies of Lucifer are in his hands and before he may step onward and upward, he must prove his ability to properly apply energy. He must follow in the footsteps of his forefather, Tubal-Cain, who with the mighty strength of the war god hammered his sword into a ploughshare.”

There is also a sexual connotation associated with Vulcan and Tubal Cain. Former Mason, Bill Schnoebelen, explains:

“For Masons who wish to conceal their membership from non-Masons, but still advertise it to their Lodge brothers, there is a special pin (or tie tack) they can wear. It looks like an upside down golf club with two balls near the top….Many people assume the person is a golfing enthusiast, but it is actually a visual Masonic pun.

“This is called the ‘Two Ball Cane,’ and is a pun on the secret password of a Master Mason, ‘Tubalcain (sic).’…It is also an all-too-obvious pun on the ‘god’ of Masonry, the male reproductive organ. Nice, eh?…especially when many men wear these wretched things to church on Sunday!”

We can also go in a in a different direction and connect the 7 of Dee’s 007 with the “original language” that Johannes Bureus connected the runes with.

If we look at a chart of Bureus runes, that I picked up from the article the Rune-Cross of Johannes Bureus, we can see that there is a very close resemblance between the “L” sign and Dee’s 007 sign. This is rune is called “Lagher” and very appropriatly it has the numerological value of 700.

More from’s article the Rune-Cross of Johannes Bureus:

Bureus saw his runic system as the mediator between the divine and human worlds. The creative word of God is the mediator between Him and His creation. Consequentally Bureus saw the runes as the divine or original language.

The article elaborates further on the different theories by the two writers Karlsson and Flowers. The L sign on the left hand of the Rune Cross is thought to represent Saturn and the entire numerical value if the left arm of the cross is 794, which according to Bureus is the number of years between the conjunctions of Jupiter and Saturn. Could also the Lagher rune that is at the end of the left arm (right to the viewer), be a reference to the “Left-Hand Path”?

When we continue to read we discover even more connections between Bureus runecross and the number seven:

Seven-Rune Height
The vertical beam has seven runes, which Karlsson says are the seven steps upward and downward in the process of initiation. In Bureus’ hieroglyph you have to ascend from “Byrghal” (representing two gates, for ‘coming in’ on the way down and ‘coming out’ on the way back up) to “Thors”, the latter representing the God Thor. “The connector in this process is Odin who is represented by Haghal”. This is a strange remark, because Odin has his own rune, the “Odhes”.

Karlsson gives some (possible) meanings to the seven runes of the ‘Seven-Rune Height’ (as Bureus called it), but I will continue where Karlsson connects the seven runes with the seven stages of alchemy. Bureus supposedly wrote a book called Cabalistica in which he gives his theory of the seven steps of initiation. One way of picturing this is by naming the stages of the proces of the creation of the elixer of life. …Karlsson comes with his own theories connecting the seven runes with the seven chakras of Eastern philosophy.

See here and here for more background on Bureus runecross.

At this point it isn’t to far of a stretch to draw parallels between the Roman god Vulcan and the Norse god Thor just as Manly Palmer Hall, a few paragraphs up mentioned: “Tubal-Cain with his mighty strength of the war god hammered his sword into a ploughshare.”

There is a lot to figure out about Tubal Cain and what the connection to se7en is all about. To get some background on this we can read in the article Tubal Cain, the Secret Password of a Mason, that quote Josephus, Antiquities of the Jews, A.D. 93:

Adam and Eve had two sons. The elder of them was named Cain, which name, when it is interpreted, signifies a possession; the younger was Abel, which signifies sorrow. They had also daughters. Now the two brethren were pleased with different courses of life; for Abel, the younger, was a lover of righteousness, and believing that God was present at all his actions, he excelled in virtue, and his employment was that of a shephard. But Cain was not only very wicked in other respects, but was wholly intent upon getting, and he first contrived to plough the ground. He slew his brother on the occasion following: They had resolved to sacrifice to God. Now Cain brought the fruits of the earth, and of his husbandry; but Abel brought milk, and the first-fruits of his flocks; but God was more delighted with the latter oblation when he honoured with what grew naturally of its own accord, than he was with what was the invention of a covetous man, and gotten by forcing the ground; whence it was that Cain was very angry that Abel was preferred by God before him; and he slew his brother, and hid his dead body, thinking to escape discovery….

…God therefore did not inflict the punishment [of death] upon him (Cain), on account of his offering sacrifice, and thereby making supplication to Him not to be extreme in his wrath to him; but He made him accursed, and threatened his posterity in the seventh generation. He also cast him, together with his wife, out of that land. And when he was afraid that in wandering about he should fall among wild beasts, and by that means perish, God bid him not to entertain such a melancholy suspicion, and to go over all the earth without fear of what mischief he might suffer from wild beasts; and setting a mark upon him that he might be known, he commanded him to depart
And when Cain had travelled over many countries, he, with his wife, built a city, named Nod, which is a place so called, and there he settled his abode; where also he had children. However, he did not accept of his punishment in order to ammendment, but to increase his wickedness; for he only aimed to procure everything that was for his own bodily pleasure, though it obliged him to be injurious to his neighbours. He augmented his household substance with much wealth, by rapine and violence; he excited his acquaintance to procure pleasures and spoils of robbery, and became a great leader of men into wicked courses. He also introduced a change in that way of simplicity wherein men lived before; and was the author of measures and weights. And whereas they lived innocently and generously while they knew nothing of such arts, he changed the world into cunning craftiness. He first of all set boundaries about lands; he built a city, and fortified it with walls, and he compelled his family to come together to it; and called that city Enoch, after the name of his eldest son Enoch.

(Dee named his system of ceremonial magic after the apocryphal Book of Enoch.)

…Tubal, one of his children by the other wife, exceeded all men in strength, and was very expert and famous in martial performances. He procured what tended to the pleasures of the body by that method; and first of all invented the art of making brass.

In that last paragraph we again have the confirmation on the similarities between Tubal Cain and the craftsmanship and strength related to Thor or Vulcan.

Then we can take a look at the Genealogies of Adam and follow the line of Cain and see that Lamech was Cain’s fifth son. Lamech in turn had three sons: Jabal, Jubal, Tubalcain. So can we count Tubal-Cain as the eight generation, free of the threat that God made to Cain’s posterity in seventh generation?

From the wikipedia thread on Lamech descendant of Cain we can read:

Lamech first loses his sight from age, and had to be led by Tubal-Cain, the seventh generation from Cain. Tubal-Cain saw in the distance something that he first took for an animal, but it was actually Cain (still alive, due to the extensive life span of the antediluvians) whom Lamech had accidentally killed with an arrow. When they discovered who it was, Lamech, in sorrow, clapped his hands together, which (for an unclear reason) kills Tubal-Cain. In consequence, Lamech’s wives desert him. A similar legend is preserved in the pseudepigraphic Second Book of Adam and Eve, Chapter XIII; in this version Tubal-Cain is not named, but is instead referred to as “the young shepherd.” After Lamech claps his hands he strikes the young shepherd on the head. To ensure his death, he then smashed his head with a rock.

An alternate form of this negative attitude towards Lamech (such as Targum Pseudo-Jonathan) claims that even though Lamech did not kill anyone, his wives refused to associate with him and denied him sex, on the grounds that Cain’s line was to be annihilated after seven generations. The poem is then given by Lamech to allay their fears. Other classical sources, such as Josephus, see the word seventy-seven as the number of sons which Lamech eventually had.

In another article called OOPARTS and Tubal Cain we can read:

There is a class of ancient artifacts such as iron nails found in solid rock, a delicate gold chain found in a lump of coal in the 1890s, or an ornate bell-shaped vessel inlaid with silver blasted from rock in a Massachusetts that are called Out Of Place Artifacts, known popularly as OOPARTs. They seem to suggest that someone had been manufacturing objects millions of years before the human race was capable of such fine and precise work or even before humans existed on this planet. These artifacts are, in essence, a form of proof that another intelligence had once walked the Earth, maybe before the dinosaurs disappeared and that those sophisticated beings probably originated in outer space given the fossil and geological records relied on by our modern day scientists. It is circumstantial evidence that, if accurate, provides us with the proof that some ancient sightings were of alien spacecraft.

One of the first of the Out of Place Artifacts (OOPARTs) I came across was a reference in several UFO books to some sort of “bell-shaped vessel” discovered during blasting in a quarry in Massachusetts in the mid-19th century. For some reason I have always envisioned this as a “gravy boat.”

According to those UFO books, the original source was the Scientific American in 1851. The story was headlined “A relic of a by-gone age” although some suggested it was labeled as “A Curiosity.”

The story, as reported in those other UFO books, was that the blasting in the quarry “threw an immense mass of rock… in all directions.” Among the shattered debris, the workmen found a small metallic vessel in two pieces that when reassembled formed a “bell shape” about four and a quarter inches high and about six inches wide at the top. The whole thing was something like an eighth of an inch thick.

The report continued, saying that it was made of zinc with “a considerable portion of silver.” The sides were inlaid with silver and the carving was “exquisitely done by the art of some cunning workman.” The magazine concluded, again according to all those other UFO books, that the find was worthy of additional investigation because the vessel was extremely old, pre-dating the first inhabitants of the continent.

On closer examination of the Scientific American, it begins to look as if the mark at the end of the sentence that I thought originally was an artifact caused by the microfilm process, and right after the word Tuba, is an “L” that slipped out of alignment and into the margin. This means the name is a reference to Tubal Cain and Tubal Cain probably wasn’t an early reference to one of the first residents of Dorchester County, but was a descendent of Adam and Eve. Tubal Cain refers to blacksmiths from antiquity and the original Tubal Cain supposedly worked with bronze and iron in the far distant past and no where near the New World.

Here is something else from outside the UFO field (and that I wouldn’t have known if it hadn’t been for access to the Internet), Tubal Cain is a secret Masonic phrase, and something that certainly wasn’t well known in 1852. So now the question becomes is this tale of a metallic vessel found in solid rock true or does it have some significance to the Masons and the use of Tubal Cain is the clue. I confess that I don’t know. I am more than a little disturbed to learn of the history of Tubal Cain and the reference to it, or him, in this particular article. There is no reason for those other writers to have made anything out of the reference, unless they themselves were Masons and knew the code.

And from this site in an article about Tubal-Cain:

…according to the apocryphal book Enoch, the sons of God taught people the use of metals; which would seem to imply that Tubal-cain was a direct descendant of the Almighty, and that God’s children had a thing for girls from the wrong side of the tracks.

Before we leave this topic you got to take a look at this: Tubal-Cain Industries.

So there you have it, no premature conclusion at this point. These are just a few of the interesting connections I’ve found so far. I hope to follow up on this soon as more connection will surely pop up along the way.

Nibiru and The Kolbrin Bible

The Kolbrin bible contains startling passages that describe none other than the fly-by of Nibiru itself.

From the ‘Book of Creation,’ Chapter Three.

“…It is known and the story comes down from ancient times that there was not one creation but two. A creation and a recreation. It is a fact known to the wise that the Earth was utterly destroyed once then reborn on a second wheel of creation. At the time of the great destruction of Earth God caused a [celestial] dragon from outer heaven to come and encompass her about. The dragon was frightful to behold, it lashed its tail and breathed out fire and hot coals and a great catastrophe was inflicted upon mankind. The body of the dragon [Nibiru/Planet X] was wreathed in a cold bright light and beneath on the belly was a ruddy hued glow while behind it trailed a flowing tail of smoke.

“It spewed out cinders and hot stones and its breath was fowl and stenchful poisoning the nostrils of men. Its passage caused great thundering and lightning to rend the thick darkened sky, all heaven and Earth being made hot. The seas were loosened from their cradles and rose up pouring across the land. There was an awful shrilling trumpeting which outpoured even the howling of the unleashed winds. Men stricken with terror went mad at the awful sight in the heavens.

They were loosed from their senses and dashed about crazed not knowing what they did. The breath was sucked from their bodies and they were burned with a strange ash. Then it passed leaving Earth enwrapped with a dark and glowering mantle which was ruddily lit up inside. The bowels of the Earth were torn open and great writhing upheavals and a howling whirlwind rent the mountains apart. The wrath of the sky monster [Nibiru] was loosed in the heavens. It lashed about in flaming fury roaring like a thousand thunders. It poured down fiery destruction amid a welter of THICK BLACK BLOOD [Red ash].

“So awesome was the fearfully aspected thing that the memory mercifully departed from Man. His thoughts were smothered under a cloud of forgetfulness….. in this manner the first Earth [Tiamat] was destroyed by calamity descending from the skies. Men and their dwelling places were gone. Only sky boulders and the red earth remained where once they were. But amidst all the desolation a few survived for Man is not easily destroyed but crept out of their caves and came down the mountain sides.

Their eyes were wild and their limbs trembled. Their bodies shook and their calls lacked control. Their faces were twisted and their skin hung loose on their bones. They were as maddened as wild beasts driven into an enclosure before flames. They knew no law being deprived of all the wisdom they once had and those who had guided them were gone…”

The Kolbrin Bible goes on to give us a warning of the red comet/planet’s return, named the Destroyer:

“When blood [the red ash] drops upon the Earth the DESTROYER [Nibiru] will appear and mountains will open up and belch forth fire and ashes. Trees will be destroyed and all living things engulfed. Waters will be swallowed up by the land and the seas will boil. The heavens will burn brightly and redly. There will be a copper hue over the face of the land followed by a day of darkness.

A new moon [one of the satellites of Nibiru] will appear and break up and fall. The people will scatter in madness. They will hear the trumpet and the battle cry of the DESTROYER and will seek refuge in the dens [underground bunkers] of the Earth. Terror will eat away their hearts and their courage will flow from them like water from a broken pitcher.

They will be eaten up in the flames of wrath and consumed by the breath of the DESTROYER. In those days men will have the great book before them, wisdom will be revealed. The few will be gathered for the stand. It is the hour of trial. The dauntless ones will survive. The stout-hearted will not go down in destruction…”

With passages like these I tend to put much weight in what the text has to say—a planetary encounter. Yes, I realize ancient manuscripts have certain built-in biases and exaggerations dependent upon the point of view of the author but at the same time you simply cannot just throw a precious document like this out with the bath water.

Therefore it is reasonable to suggest the Destroyer mentioned in the Kolbrin, is in fact Nibiru, the celestial Sky Monster accompanied with a red meandering comet-like serpentine tail.

The Philadelphia Experiment

Posted: November 24, 2012 by phaedrap1 in Conspiracy, Occult

In October 1955 “Dr.” Morris Jessup received a series of strange letters. Jessup was a 55 year-old astronomer and adventurer. Though he’d never officially received a Phd he’d written a dissertation in the field of astrophysics. Later he developed interests in jungle exploration, archaeology and “fringe” science. In that same year his book The Case for the UFOwas published in hardcover and paperback.

It was shortly after the paperback version of his work came out that the letters arrived. They were rambling, strangely worded and written with several different colors of pencil and pen. The second of these letters told Jessup about an experiment the U.S. Navy had tried in 1943. According to the writer, the Navy was trying to render a destroyer invisible by applying Einstein’s Unified Field Theory. The ship, the U.S.S. Eldridge, had indeed disappeared, the letter said, but at a terrible price to the crew: …

The “result” was complete invisibility of a ship. Destroyer type, and all of its crew, While at Sea (October. 1943) The Field Was effective in an oblate spheroidal shape, extending one hundred yards (More or Less, due to the Lunar position & Latitude) out from each beam of the ship. Any Person Within that sphere became vague in form BUT He too observed those Persons aboard that ship as though they too were of the same state, yet were walking upon nothing. Any person without that sphere could see Nothing save the clearly Defined shape of the Ships Hull in the Water, PROVIDING of course, that the person was just close enough to see yet, barely outside the field. Why tell you Now? Very Simple; If You choose to go Mad then you would reveal this information. Half of the officers & crew of that Ship are at Present, Mad as Hatters. A few, are even Yet confined to certain areas where they May receive trained Scientific aid when they either, “Go Blank” or “Go Blank” & Get Stuck.”… The Man thusly stricken can Not Move of his own volition unless two or More of those who are within the field go & touch him, quickly, else he “Freezes”.

The writer also claimed that some of the crew could walk through walls and that during the experiment the whole ship had disappeared, reappeared in Norfolk, Virginia, then returned to Philadelphia. The man claimed he had observed the experiment from a merchant ship nearby and had later read about some more of the incident in a Philadelphia newspaper. The writer had signed himself “Carl M. Allen.”

Jessup thought the letters were from a crackpot until he was visited by two men from the Office of Naval Research (ONR). The ONR had anonymously been sent a paperback copy of Jessup’s UFO book. The inside of the book had been heavily marked up with incoherent handwritten notes in various colors that made it appear that at least three different writers had been involved. Although Admiral Furth, to whom the package had been addressed, took little notice of the strange volume, Commander George Hoover, Major Darrell Ritter and Captain Sidney Sherby, all of the ONR, took a personal interest in it. They also decided to talk to Jessup to see if he could shed some light on the author of the notes.

Jessup immediately recognized the script to be in the same style as the letters. He showed the letters to the officers. The Navy men were interested in them. They took the letters and the book, and at their own expense, had a few number of copies made that were distributed to a small group of people.

The officers attempted to find this “Carl M. Allen” (who would later be identified as “Carols Miguel Allende”) but none of the return addresses on the letters or the package seemed to lead to him. Jessup, who was busy on other projects, at first lost interest in the strange correspondence, but later started investigating their unusual claims. He found out little.

In 1969, after Jessup’s death, Allende showed up at the office of the Aerial Phenomena Research Organization (APRO) in Tucson, Arizona, The APRO group is dedicated to examining UFO reports. There Allende confessed to writing the letters and the notes in the book sent to the ONR. He stated that Jessup’s book, particularly a part about invisability and force fields, had frightened him prompting him to make up the story of the ship disappearing to scare Jessup away from writing about UFOs.

So ifsAllende confession the end of the tale? Not quite. In 1979 William Moore and Charles Berlitz wrote a book called “The Philadelphia Experiment.” In the book they suggested that Allende’s confession may have been false. They also included a copy of what appeared to be a newspaper article from 1943. The book infers that the sailors mentioned in the article were suffering after effects of “The Philadelphia Experiment.” The headline read:

Strange Circumstances Surround Tavern Brawl

The article stated that during an altercation at a Philadelphia bar, two sailors disappeared into thin air. There is no date or newspaper name on the article and it does not seem to match the column size of any Philadelphia paper of that day. It was obtained when a photocopy was sent to Moore and Berlitz anonymously. Unfortunately this combination of circumstances makes it impossible to show that the article is not a hoax.

The USS Eldridge in port some years later under a different name and flag.

The Moore/Berlitz book also focused on Jessup’s death (which was a suicide) and the uncharacteristic interest of ONR in Allende’s notes. The authors suggest that this is evidence that there is some truth behind the story.

Two films were made about the alleged incident which helped to keep public interest in the story going. In 1984 the “The Philadelphia Experiment” staring Michael Pare and Nancy Allen told a much altered version of the the Moore/Berlitz book’s tale. A sequel ,”Philadelphia Experiment II,” was released in 1993.

It may not only be Allende’s letters that inspired the rumors about “The Philadelphia Experiment” (which has also been referred to as the “Rainbow Project”). During WWII the United States Navy had a program to deguass ships. This process, which entailed running cables around the circumference of the ship’s hull (bow to stern), canceled out the ship’s magnetic field. This made it undetectable (or one might say magnetically invisible) to some types of mines and torpedoes. The process had no affect on the visual appearance of the ship. The US Navy suggests that a misunderstanding of this process may have somehow been the genesis for “The Philadelphia Experiment” story.

Another possibility might be experiments the Navy carried out on the USS Timmerman during the 1950’s. A new high-frequency generator was installed. The generator produced corona discharges that seemed similar to what was described in the story when the ship supposedly disappeared.

Whatever the roots of the story might have been (Allende, deguassing or corona discharges) one thing is certain: No experiment was done in 1943 at the Philadelphia Navy Yard involving the USS Eldridge.

During that period she never stopped in Philadelphia. A fact attested to by the ship’s crew. In March of 1999 fifteen members of the crew of the USS Eldridge held a reunion in Atlantic City. They were a bit bewildered about why of all the ships in the U.S. Navy the Eldridge was chosen for this rumor. Some were getting tired of being asked about it. All denied anything like what was in the Allende story or the Moore/Berlitz book ever actually happened. Quipped former crew member Ed Tempary as he gave his comrades a smile, “The only part of the book I think is true is the part about the crew being a little crazy.”

Mayan ruins via AFP

France on Friday dashed the hopes of those who had planned to take refuge in one of the few places on Earth some believe will be spared when the world ends on December 21.

Local officials banned access to the Pic de Bugarach, a mountain in the southwest where rumour has it the hilltop will open on the last day and aliens will emerge with spaceships to save nearby humans.

Eric Freysselinard, the state’s top representative in the area, said he was blocking access to the mountain for public safety reasons to avoid a rush of New Age fanatics, sightseers and media crews.

Believers say the world will end on December 21, 2012, the end date of the ancient Mayan calendar, and they see Bugarach as one of a few sacred mountains sheltered from the cataclysm.

Freysselinard said the 100 police and firefighters he plans to deploy will also control approaches to the tiny village of the same name at the foot of the mountain, and if too many people turn up, they will block access there too.

“We are expecting a few visionaries, a few people who believe in this end of the world, but in extremely limited numbers,” he said in the nearby city of Carcassonne.

“We are expecting greater numbers of people who are just curious, but in numbers we cannot determine. Above all, we are expecting lots of journalists,” he said.

Films, documentaries and websites have promoted the idea that the ancient Mayan calendar predicts that doomsday is on December 21.

The culture ministry in Guatemala — where half the population are of Mayan descent — is hosting a massive event in the capital just in case the world actually does end, while tour groups are promoting doomsday-themed getaways.

But the country’s Maya alliance Oxlaljuj Ajpop accuses the government and tour groups of perpetuating the myth that their calendar foresees the imminent end of the world for monetary gain.

It issued a statement last month saying that the new Maya time cycle simply “means there will be big changes on the personal, family and community level, so that there is harmony and balance between mankind and nature.”

The Raw Story

The Mummies of the Grand Canyon

Posted: November 4, 2012 by phaedrap1 in Conspiracy, News

What if everything we know about American history is wrong? What if the ancients came here long before Columbus and Jamestown? And what if they left behind clues, so that we could one day learn the true history of humanity?

In 1909, two men stumbled upon the missing link between the ancient world and our own. Professor S.A. Jordan and explorer G.E. Kincaid (sometimes spelled Kinkaid) discovered a cave system in the Grand Canyon that was home to much more than stalagmites and bats. Actually, a tunnel-system is a better description than that of a cave. What the two men found was a dug-out maze of geometrically perfect tunnels filled with ancient Egyptian and Indian artifacts, including mummies. A Buddhist shrine with plainly Egyptian hieroglyphs, boomerangs, and distinct metal objects were also among the finds. How could this be? Why have we never heard of this?

Jordan and Kincaid were both funded by the Smithsonian, our national museum. The Phoenix Gazette published their report as a front-page story on April 5th, 1909. This raised a few eyebrows, but never gained the national media’s attention. What amounts to the greatest archaeological discovery of the 20th century, possibly even the greatest ever, was promptly swept under the rug.

If you ask the Smithsonian about this find, they’ll swiftly deny its validity and say they don’t know of a Professor Jordan or a G.E. Kincaid. The relics they brought back are nowhere to be found, and the section of the Grand Canyon purported to hold this tunnel system is strictly off limits. With conventional research, the trail goes cold.

We’re left with two possibilities. Either the story is an elaborate, highly detailed hoax put on by two fame-hungry explorers in cahoots with a local newspaper, or the biggest evidence of pre-historical civilization was deliberately covered up.

The hoax theory doesn’t hold much water. Newspapers used to exist to educate the public, not to sensationalize current events, like they do now. If the journalist had indeed created this whole scenario from his own vivid imagination, wouldn’t he have found some national news source to pick it up? If he was in it for fame, he sure didn’t put much effort into pitching the story. And what about Jordan and Kincaid being fictional characters? Though the Smithsonian will say, “Never heard of ‘em,” if you dig deep enough, you can find records that contain their names. After the news-story was published, however, both men seem to vanish into thin air. Is this because they never existed or because they’d seen too much?

The cover-up theory suggests that The Smithsonian and other “powers-that-be” have a vested interest in making sure that anything that disproves conventional history, especially a discovery of this magnitude, is suppressed before it shatters the status quo, the perceived reality. It runs much deeper than some grumpy old historians having to admit that they were wrong. It’s becoming increasingly obvious that the ancients were privy to an advanced technology, and the monuments and relics they put away for safe-keeping are clues to this mystery. The fossil-fuel and electricity magnates would be dethroned if humankind had access to all the pieces of the puzzle. Other than our tax dollars, who do you think funds the Smithsonian?

The people we refer to as Native Americans have many legends that describe pre-Columbian visitation form advanced civilizations. The Hopi legends describe what Jordan and Kincaid found, almost exactly. These Native Americans did not mummify their dead, but numerous mummies have been unearthed in North America. They’ll tell you that Egyptians, Indians, and other cultures had a great influence on their own. Maybe it’s time we listen.

The evidence for the Grand Canyon Mummies and other claims can be found everywhere…except for a history book.

Seek and you will find.

John Dee’s Calendar and God’s Longitude

Posted: November 2, 2012 by phaedrap1 in Conspiracy, Occult

By Peter Meyer – Hermetic Systems

John Dee was an advisor to Queen Elizabeth I, in particular, on the reform of the calendar. His activities in this area are described in an article on this website by Dr Robert Poole. What is not mentioned in that article is that (as shown by investigations by Simon Cassidy) Dee did not in fact propose the adoption of a modified form of the Gregorian Calendar (with the omission of 11 days instead of the Pope’s 10 days) but actually intended a quite different and superior calendar reform — an Elizabethan calendar with a 33-year cycle (based on the life of Jesus) including eight leap years and with the spring equinox always occurring on March 21 (provided the calendar was used at a certain meridian of longitude).

In the Gregorian Calendar a year whose year number is divisible by 4 is a leap year unless it is divisible by 100 but not by 400 (in which case it is not a leap year). Thus the years 1600 and 2000 are leap years, but 1700, 1800, 1900 and 2100 are not.

In the calendar proposed by John Dee the rule for which years within a 33-year cycle are leap years is: A year is a leap year if (and only if) the remainder, when the year number is divided by 33, is non-zero and is an exact multiple of 4. The Dee Calendar, and its variant, the Dee-Cecil Calendar, is discussed in more detail in The Dee-Cecil Calendar and its Date Conversion Algorithms.

Simon Cassidy has proposed that John Dee had a secret plan for the implementation of his calendar, one which (a) would have confounded the Catholic calendar reform (if implemented) and (b) did catalyse the first attempts at a trans-oceanic British Empire under the Protestant monarchs Queen Elizabeth I and James I.

The primary motivation for the Gregorian calendar reform was that the date of Easter was slowly slipping (reaching about ten or eleven days by the 16th C.) towards summer. This date is sometimes loosely defined as the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring (a.k.a. vernal) equinox (which, as astronomer Duncan Steel has stated, implies that Easter can occur any time between March 22 and April 25).

Simon Cassidy has stated (private communication):

The actual rule in both the Gregorian and Julian calendars is that Easter is the first Sunday after the first ecclesiastical full moon day, on or after the date of March 21st (the ecclesiastical spring equinox). The ecclesiastical full moons are determined by the Golden number of the year and in the Gregorian calendar also by the epact shifts of all the Golden number dates (which shifts occur only in certain century years). No one really knows whether the Nicene fathers got any further than deciding that all christians had to obey the same rule (without specifying an actual rule, other than the probable introduction of the Sunday endpoint).

Those who like to say the rule is “the first Sunday after the first ecclesiastical full moon day, after the date of March 20th” are forgetting that the Church documents actually state the date of the church’s equinox as the 21st of March (as King Phillip II of Spain emphasized to the Pope, Gregory XIII, prior to his reform).

Unfortunately in the Gregorian Calendar the vernal equinox can occur on any of March 19, 20 and 21, as shown in Figure 3 of Simon Cassidy’s Stonehenge Speaks: An Open Letter to Umberto Eco (PDF file).

Thus the Gregorian calendar reform was flawed at its inception, since it did not result in the vernal equinox always occurring on March 21 in the new calendar, contrary to the presumed wishes of the Nicene fathers [at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD] — an embarrassment that presumably the Church preferred to remain silent about. (After the official introduction of the Gregorian Calendar in 1582 the vernal equinox stayed either on March 20 or 21 until 1652 (British time) or 1656 (Italian time), when it occurred on March 19.)

The vernal equinox cannot always occur on March 21 in the Gregorian Calendar (or on any single date) because in that calendar it is possible to have a leap year followed by seven non-leap years, e.g., 1796 (a leap year) followed by the years 1797-1803 (since 1800 was not a leap year). The true length of the seasonal year is about 6 hours longer than 365 days, so the vernal equinox occurs about 6 hours later from year to year. Over a period of seven years the last vernal equinox will occur about 42 hours later than the first, unless the date of the vernal equinox is made to be earlier by the insertion of an extra day in the preceding February. But if those seven years are all non-leap years, then this adjustment will not occur, so the 42 hours will always span at least two calendar dates.

Sometimes during these seven years the vernal equinox will span three calendar dates, as in the following example (times are GMT). Note that 1800 is not a leap year in the Gregorian Calendar.

1796-03-19 CE 20:54
1797-03-20 CE 02:48
1798-03-20 CE 08:39
1799-03-20 CE 14:31
1800-03-20 CE 20:12
1801-03-21 CE 01:56
1802-03-21 CE 07:48
1803-03-21 CE 13:34

1804 is a leap year, so a February 29 occurs in 1804, which pulls the vernal equinox back to March 20 (at 19:17).

The time-of-day of the vernal equinox moves forward by about six hours each year, so in four years it moves forward by about 24 hours. Actually it always moves forward by less than 24 hours.

What follows is a heuristic argument to show that, under certain conditions, the vernal equinox could always occur (at least, within a certain range of years) on the same date in the Dee Calendar.

A 33-year cycle in the Dee Calendar consists of seven 4-year periods (years 1-4, 5-8, etc.) in which the 4th year is a leap year, followed by a 5-year period (29-33) in which the 4th year (the 32nd year of the cycle) is a leap year.

Consider a 4-year period. Consider a day (more exactly, a nychthemeron) as divided into quarters (midnight to 6 a.m., etc.). If in the 1st year the vernal equinox occurs in the 2nd quarter (6 a.m. to noon) then it will usually (though not always) occur in the 3rd quarter in the 2nd year, in the 4th quarter in the 3rd year, and in the 1st quarter in the 4th year. Since the 4th year is a leap year, the date of the vernal equinox remains the same as for the 1st year.

The vernal equinox in the following year, which is the 1st year of the next 4- or 5-year period, occurs in the 2nd quarter, and so has the same date as the preceding four years.

Consider now the final 5-year period. If in the 1st year the vernal equinox occurs at about 7 a.m. then in the 2nd year it will occur about 1 pm., in the 3rd year about 7 p.m., and in the 4th year about 1 a.m.. So the date of the vernal equinox in that year remains the same as for the 1st year because the 4th year is a leap year. Then in the 5th year the vernal equinox occurs about 7 a.m., on the same date as in the previous year.

Thus for the vernal equinox to occur on the same date each year in the Dee Calendar vernal equinoxes must always (or at least usually) occur in the 2nd quarter in the first year of each 4-year period and at about 7 a.m. in the first year of the final 5-year period.

This might seem to be asking a lot (that is, the assumptions might never be fulfilled). Note, however, that the time-of-day of any event (such as the vernal equinox) is relative to local midnight, and local midnight depends on the place on Earth (more exactly, the longitude) where one is. So it may be that for most longitudes the assumptions are never fulfilled. But in fact for certain periods there is a longitude where the vernal equinox always occurs at just the right times of day, so that it always occurs on March 21 in the Dee Calendar.

Simon Cassidy has proposed that John Dee, after formulating his calendar in the 1560s (1564-1568), considered the question of whether there is some longitude at which the vernal equinox always (or at least for several centuries) occurs on March 21, and that (after much observation, diplomacy and computation) he arrived at the correct answer: 77° west of Greenwich. At this longitude the vernal equinox will always occur on the same calendar date: March 21 in Dee’s calendar (in accord with the ecclesiastical spring equinox date), or March 20 in the Dee-Cecil variant, during the 300 years from 1580 through 1879.

The 33-year leap-day cycle of Dee’s calendar accords with, and repeats indefinitely, the actual leap-days in the traditional lifetime of Jesus (years 1-33 AD). Dee (according to Simon Cassidy) believed that the obvious superiority of his calendar over the Gregorian would so much appeal to Christians everywhere that they would abandon the Gregorian reform in favor of his calendar, which was to be promulgated under the auspices of the Protestant Queen, Elizabeth I.

In his Stonehenge Speaks Simon Cassidy writes that:

the adoption of the mathematically simplest, and most Christian, implementation of the 33-year cycle would logically specify the existence of a meridian or narrow band of longitudes within which, and only within which, the Nicene edict could stay correct. This would probably have come to be seen as God’s chosen meridian by all Churches that recognised the Nicene council.

After reading this, Duncan Steel coined the term “God’s Longitude” to denote this “narrow band of longitudes”.

Further details are given by Simon Cassidy in his articles Re 4-1/8 yr. Leap Rule responses of Richard, Jim and Amos and Implementing a correct 33-year calendar reform.

The problem in implementing Dee’s calendar in the early 1580s was that longitude 77° W was then under the control of the Spanish (who had colonized the Caribbean and parts of South America), and unfortunately they owed allegiance to the Pope. It would not do to announce the new Protestant calendar when God’s Longitude was not in the possession of Protestants but rather of Catholics. Thus Dee proposed to Queen Elizabeth that an expedition should be mounted to colonize the East Coast of North America, so as to take possession of at least part of God’s Longitude, thus preparing the way for the advent of the new calendar and the demise of the Gregorian reform.

Because of this interest of Elizabeth in colonizing North America Duncan Steel considers Dee’s calendar to be the most important invention in the last 2000 years (see his The Non-implemented 33-Year English Protestant Calendar).

Bill Napier’s novel Shattered Icon (2003, Headline, UK; published in the US as Splintered Icon and in Germany as Der 77. Grad) is partly a semi-fictional account of the voyage to establish the colony in Virginia and the reason for it, and is partly set in the present, where one of the main characters (after the plot is explained to him) says:

OK, I get it. The English establish a colony on the seventy-seven degree meridian, operating in secret. Once they’ve established it, they announce the Dee calendar to the world. A calendar that paces the life of Jesus, that’s more true to the Biblical Easter, that holds more closely to the seasons. Irresistible! England’s influence with other Protestant nations is increased, and the Antichrist, in the form of the Pope, is stuck flogging a second-rate ecclesiastical calendar which they’d only just introduced. Game, set and match to the Protestants. Quite a lad was our John Dee.

Consider now how to locate God’s Longitude exactly. This longitude cannot be found by analytical reasoning but only by computation (using data obtained by observation, in particular, vernal equinox times).

Based on algorithms that I developed for conversion of dates in the Dee(-Cecil) Calendar to and from Julian day numbers, I wrote software for Dee(-Cecil) date conversion. This software includes the ability to calculate the date and time of the vernal equinox both for the Gregorian Calendar and for the Dee and Dee-Cecil Calendars as used at any given longitude from 70° to 79°59′ west of Greenwich. Furthermore, this software allows use of both apparent solar time and mean solar time (as explained in the user manual).

The primary result from using this software (in the context of this article) is that during the period from 1555 through 1879 the vernal equinox would always have occurred on March 21 in the Dee Calendar (using apparent solar time, as Dee did) if that calendar had been in use at longitude 77° W.

A poem which Dee wrote and included in a calendrical treatise written for Queen Elizabeth has these lines:

To shew the sun of Christ birth day.
Three hundred yeres, shall not remove
The sun, one day, from this new match

If Dee was counting years from 1580 then he was saying that during the 300 years from 1580 through 1879 the vernal equinox always occurs on March 21 in his new calendar (at longitude 77° W). This is true (though in 1880 it occurs on March 20). Simon Cassidy has pointed out   that this is evidence supporting his hypothesis that Dee was (secretly) advising Queen Elizabeth to mount an expedition to North America in order to take possession of God’s Longitude.

If we consider the 292-year period from 1588 through 1879 we find that the vernal equinox always occurs on March 21 in the Dee Calendar for any longitude from 75°30′ W to 78°30′ W (using apparent solar time). Thus during 1588-1879 God’s Longitude was this 3-degree range of longitudes, centering on 77° W. It is interesting to note that the longitude of the Capitol Building in Washington DC (denoted zero degrees by the District of Columbia’s original architect Pierre L’Enfant ca. 1790) is 77°0′ W.  Coincidence?

Due to the decrease in the speed of the Earth’s rotation, God’s Longitude has been slowly moving east since Dee’s time. So where is it now? That depends on whether we use apparent or mean solar time. Midnight as now understood occurs at the same instant throughout any single timezone. That instant is local midnight at the longitude taken as the reference point for that timezone (which is usually a multiple of 15° different from the Greenwich Meridian). That local midnight is midnight mean solar time, not midnight apparent solar time. Therefore we should use mean solar time.

We then find (using the Julian-Gregorian-Dee Date Calculator) that for the 400-year period 1801 through 2200, for all longitudes from 73°36′ W to 75°29′ W, the vernal equinox always occurs on March 21 in the Dee Calendar. Thus God’s Longitude now exists at this band of longitudes around 74°30′ W. Consulting a map of the world we find that New York City (73°58′), Bogota (74°5′) and Guantanamo Bay (75°14′) are all within this band. This seems appropriate, seeing as how the world is currently dominated by international bankers, South American drug lords and the US military.

If, however, we take into consideration the use of Daylight Savings Time in the U.S.A. (and in particular the new rules recently introduced) then we might arrive at a different view of the present location of God’s Longitude. Simon Cassidy has stated (private communication):

From the end of the nineteenth century (1883), local midnight has become synchronised by time-zones, using the meantime of standard-longitudes, generally at 15 degree intervals from Greenwich. Thus we see that, currently, during Vernal Equinoxes, the whole of the USA’s central time-zone is running on the local meantime of the standard-longitude of 75° W. (due to Daylight Savings Time being now effective in the USA at every Vernal Equinox). Thus America’s heartland, and all regions having this property (of using 75° W. meantime, during Vernal Equinoxes) now share the specter of John Dee’s Imperial Godly Longitude.

Strange UFO Observed Over Kentucky Remains Unexplained

On Tuesday, October 21, a strange UFO was observed in the skies over Pike County and Virgie, Kentucky, USA. The object’s origin remains unexplained for the moment.

The unknown flying object was seen over several places by a number of people. Among them was amateur astronomer Allen Epling who filmed the object with his telescope.

“This object is like nothing I have ever seen before,” Epling says. At first he thought it was a helicopter or a plane, but when he looked through his binoculars he was stunned.

Very soon it became clear this was no helicopter or plane. Epling photographed the object for two and half hours in the air until it eventually vanished out of sight.

During his sighting, the Kentucky State Police received a number of calls from people who were puzzled by the strange flying object in the cloudless sky.

According to witnesses’ reports the UFO hovered roughly in the same location for over 2 hours, not drifting more than 10 degrees in any direction. It was sighted approximately 60 degrees above the horizon.

Allan Epling and the local newspaper made calls to the Air Force and to local airports, but so far no-one has claimed responsibility for the object and it remains unidentified.
